    The Wiscasset Community Center Fitness Room is going to open for reservation only starting Monday, June 15th. Sorry, still NO LOCKER ROOMS at this time!
    This is a great step forward as we move through these unprecedented times.
    Along with the Pool and Gymnasium all areas are available by reservation only, walk ins are discouraged at this time. All reservations are in half hour increments, please be specific as to how much time you will want for your swim in the pool or your exercise within the fitness room (1/2 hour, 1 hour, 1.5 hours). All reservations need to be confirmed, if you leave a message you will get called back as soon as possible, thank you for your patience with this process.
    Starting tomorrow June 11th, we will be taking reservations for the fitness room.

    Like the pool and gymnasium, we are taking reservations for next week, we've had great interest in the pool since the partial reopening of our facility on Wednesday, June 3rd.

    The WCC Pool is open for lap swimming and individual water walking at this time, Unsinkable Swim Team practices have started (June 8th, separate guidelines). Waterworks (8:30 - 9:30 am, Mon - Fri) & Water EX (6:00 - 7:00 pm, Mon & Wed) fitness classes are going to start Monday, June 15th, reservations are requested to participate in these classes because of limited participation requirements.
    We are also opening up registration for level 3, 4 & 5 group Swim Lessons, these classes will be limited to 6 students (1 per lane). These classes are tentative, needing 6 registrations per class to run. These classes will start the week of July 7th. There are also pre-requisites required for these classes to make sure registrants are deep water safe.
    Lap swimming times available:
     
    5 – 8:30 am, Mon- Fri
    9:30 – 1 pm, Mon – Fri
     
    2 – 6 pm, Mon & Wed
    2 – 7 pm, Tues & Thurs
    2 – 5:30 pm, Fri
    UNSINKABLES Swim Team is scheduled in the pool from 4:30 - 5:30 pm (M, W & Th)
    7 – 12 pm, Sat
     
    This schedule will continue until swim lessons and other programs are able to open up.

    The WCC Gymnasium is open for individual walking and stretching, single hoop shooting of basketball. Walk ins will be accepted but would be on a first come first serve basis with no guarantee of availability of basketball hoops. Gymnasium programming will start on Monday, June 15th with Pickleball (Mon, Wed & Fri, approx. 7:30 - 9:30 am) being available for singles play only at this time.
    Friday, June 19th, the Pickleball schedule will be from 7:00 - 9:00 am.

    We are hosting the Red Cross Blood Drive from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm on Friday, June 19th (Appointment Only) at the WCC. Please call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter WCC to schedule an appointment.

    The WCC Fitness Room (starting June 15th @ 5:00 am) will be open for your general fitness and exercise needs. The Fitness Room will be limited to 6 people exercising at one time allowing for Social Distancing while using the equipment. Common courtesy will be practiced while using the equipment, 20 minutes maximum per piece of equipment unless no one is wanting to use that piece or an adjacent piece of equipment. When a piece of equipment is in use, no immediate adjacent piece of equipment can be used, this will allow for the 14' recommended spacing. If a piece of equipment is marked "NO USE AT THIS TIME", that piece of equipment is not being used at this time to accommodate the requirements of social distancing. Thank you in advance for your cooperation, as CDC guidelines and restrictions change so will our site specific guidelines and restrictions.

    Camp is going to be 10 weeks long, starting Monday, June 15th and ending August 21st. There are multiple options for purchasing, individual weeks, whole summer, sibling discounts, payment plans are also available. This camp is going to be based outside and outside activities with small groups for limited exposure and social distancing. NO TRIPS as per guidelines and restrictions, when/if able to offer trips, they will be determined by access, transportation, etc. starting on Mon, June 15th.
    More information will be sent out towards the end of the week regarding drop-off and pickup of camp children, items requested for them to bring to camp. Each child will have there own tote to place their belongings into and keep at camp throughout the Summer. There are many guidelines and restrictions that will be forwarded to all parents as we work through this time together making sure we provide the best camp experience we can possibly give.

     
    All patrons will stop at the front of the building before entering the WCC, there are questions and information that you need to read through before entering. Please take the time to understand the questions and the risks to everyone.

    Face masks are required to be worn when entering and exiting through the lobby of the WCC.
    Face masks are also required within the gymnasium while walking.

    Face masks are not required within the pool by Staff or Swimmers. 
    Face masks are not required within the fitness room by users.
     

    There will be signage for easy access to the pool, gym and fitness room where social distancing will be practiced. We (Lifeguards) will guide you to where you need to be when entering the pool area with additional signage.
    No hanging out in the lobby at this time!
    Please come in ready to swim (wearing your swimwear) or workout (wearing your workout clothes) as the locker rooms are still closed at this time, NO SHOWERS / NO LOCKER ROOMS are available at this time.
    The bathrooms located in the WCC Lobby are designated for the use of all WCC patrons, they are marked with signage for your convenience.

    As we offer these outdoor classes, props (mats, blocks, weights,etc.) are available, if you have your own props we encourage you to bring them for these classes, all WCC props will need to be left outside and cleaned after each class before being brought back into the building.(Done by staff)
    A check in and check out sheet will be filled out by each instructor, to eliminate multiple people touching, the instructors will write the names, numbers and answers of the people in the class. Once we have a list of participants we can then use check marks to signify their attendance and answers. This will be a working model until we work out all of the imperfections. There will be the 2 bathrooms in the lobby available (if needed), front doors will be open for touchless access. Bathrooms are not touchless! Bathrooms are cleaned on a regularly scheduled basis throughout the day).
    If you become sick (test positive for the Coronavirus) you will need to notify me (Duane Goud - (207) 882-8230) immediately.


    WCC Memberships are being extended by the amount of time that you had left on your membership (if it expired while we were closed) or by the amount of time our facility was closed in total before opening. Opening dates are as stated (Pool - June 3rd: Fitness Room - June 15th).

    Other programs open for registration are Coastal BabeRuth Baseball (ages 12 - 15, 12 year olds can register but are not guaranteed a spot on a team, this is primarily a 13 - 15 year old activity. Registration is available for all area children in this age group. Guidelines and restrictions are available online for this activity. Safety of all players is of great concern!
