The American Red Cross learn to swim program is designed to teach people how to be safe in, on or around water and to teach individuals of different ages and abilities how to swim in a positive aquatic learning environment.  The six learning levels teaches aquatic and personal water safety skills in a logical progression.  In the six levels, participants build on their basic skills to learn various propulsive movements on the front, back and side.  As the levels increase, participants learn to refine the different strokes and build endurance.  Each level includes exit skills assessments that put together many of the skills learned in the level.

Parent/Tot is a specially designed program for infants, toddlers and their parents.  The class is set up for children 6 months to 4 years of age.  
 
11:00 AM - 11:45 AM    Splash Swim Class - Saturday Splash
Friday and morning swim lessons are designed for preschool aged children 3-6 years old. Our program is designed to introduce beginning swimming skills in a fun filled environment.  Swimmers will be introduced to these new skills through fun and games. They will learn how to get their face wet, go under water, float on their back and front and much more.  Parents are welcome to sit pool side and watch their little swimmers learn, play and make new friends in the comforts of our warm pool. Our focus is to build a love for swimming.

3:30 PM - 4:15 PM    WCC Unsinkables Swim Team - WCCU SWIM CLUB - 2021-2022
WINTER SEASON:The W.C.C. Unsinkables is a registered U.S.A. swim team, with swimmers competing in U.S.A. swim meets throughout the season. WCCU swimmers are making a splash in the world of competitive swimming in Maine. Our swim team begins with our Preseason Swim Clinic at the end of September and will run for two weeks. The team will be coached this year by Lori LaPointe (her 25th season) and Nori Lund as the assistant coach. Nori has been apart of the WCCU community in many facets over the past 20 years, as an athlete, captain, sibling, volunteer, and coach. She continued her swimming career through college attending the University of New England, swimming all 4 years and being named captain her senior year. She was the Head coach for Wiscasset High School from 2013-2021 and the Assistant Coach for Hyde School from 2017- present. Lori has 30+ years of professional teaching/coaching in swimming, soccer and basketball. Lori was awarded Maine Swimming Coach of the Year 2003 and a Zone Coach from 2010-2014. Volunteer Coach Paul Lazarus will be rounding out the staff this year, his passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition. The WCCU coaching staff provides positive encouragement and goal setting for the athletes and encourages them to build a lifelong love for the sport of swimming. GREEN Group:  (Practice 3 times / week)  10 and under SwimmersThe GREEN group must know how to swim three of the four strokes, have a basic understanding of how to use the pace clock and be comfortable in simple structured sets.  Emphasis is placed on fine tuning all four strokes, turns and starts, and implementing a more structured workout set. Participation in competitive swim meets is encouraged.  WHITE Group:  (Practice 3 times / week) 11 & Over/Seasoned SwimmersThe WHITE group is the highest level WCCU offers. The primary focus of this groups swimmer is to prepare for the more rigorous practices. Swimmers work on technique and efficiency, as well as swim more challenging workout sets.  This group is designed for the swimmer who  is focused on reaching their highest potential as an athlete and  thrives on a competitive spirit.  In addition to time spent on technique, the main focus of the group is an intensive training regimen. The team will be coached this year by Lori LaPointe (her 25th season) and Nori Lund as the assistant coach. Nori has been apart of the WCCU community in many facets over the past 20 years, as an athlete, captain, sibling, volunteer, and coach. She continued her swimming career through college attending the University of New England, swimming all 4 years and being named captain her senior year. She was the Head coach for Wiscasset High School from 2013-2021 and the Assistant Coach for Hyde School from 2017- present. Lori has 30+ years of professional teaching/coaching in swimming, soccer and basketball. Lori was awarded Maine Swimming Coach of the Year 2003 and a Zone Coach from 2010-2014. Volunteer Coach Paul Lazarus will be rounding out the staff this year, his passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition. Friday and morning swim lessons are designed for preschool aged children 3-6 years old. Our program is designed to introduce beginning swimming skills in a fun filled environment.  Swimmers will be introduced to these new skills through fun and games. They will learn how to get their face wet, go under water, float on their back and front and much more.  Parents are welcome to sit pool side and watch their little swimmers learn, play and make new friends in the comforts of our warm pool. Our focus is to build a love for swimming.

Nori has been apart of the WCCU community in many facets over the past 20 years, as an athlete, captain, sibling, volunteer, and coach. She continued her swimming career through college attending the University of New England, swimming all 4 years and being named captain her senior year. She was the Head coach for Wiscasset High School from 2013-2021 and the Assistant Coach for Hyde School from 2017- present. Lori has 30+ years of professional teaching/coaching in swimming, soccer and basketball. Lori was awarded Maine Swimming Coach of the Year 2003 and a Zone Coach from 2010-2014. Volunteer Coach Paul Lazarus will be rounding out the staff this year, his passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition. Swimmers work on technique and efficiency, as well as swim more challenging workout sets.  This group is designed for the swimmer who  is focused on reaching their highest potential as an athlete and  thrives on a competitive spirit.  In addition to time spent on technique, the main focus of the group is an intensive training regimen. The American Red Cross learn to swim program is designed to teach people how to be safe in, on or around water and to teach individuals of different ages and abilities how to swim in a positive aquatic learning environment.  The six learning levels teaches aquatic and personal water safety skills in a logical progression.  In the six levels, participants build on their basic skills to learn various propulsive movements on the front, back and side.  As the levels increase, participants learn to refine the different strokes and build endurance.  Each level includes exit skills assessments that put together many of the skills learned in the level.

Friday and morning swim lessons are designed for preschool aged children 3-6 years old. Our program is designed to introduce beginning swimming skills in a fun filled environment.  Swimmers will be introduced to these new skills through fun and games. They will learn how to get their face wet, go under water, float on their back and front and much more.  Parents are welcome to sit pool side and watch their little swimmers learn, play and make new friends in the comforts of our warm pool. Our focus is to build a love for swimming.

Parent/Tot is a specially designed program for infants, toddlers and their parents.  The class is set up for children 6 months to 4 years of age.

Friday and morning swim lessons are designed for preschool aged children 3-6 years old. Our program is designed to introduce beginning swimming skills in a fun filled environment.  Swimmers will be introduced to these new skills through fun and games. They will learn how to get their face wet, go under water, float on their back and front and much more.  Parents are welcome to sit pool side and watch their little swimmers learn, play and make new friends in the comforts of our warm pool. Our focus is to build a love for swimming.

WCCU swimmers are making a splash in the world of competitive swimming in Maine. Our swim team begins with our Preseason Swim Clinic at the end of September and will run for two weeks. The team will be coached this year by Lori LaPointe (her 25th season) and Nori Lund as the assistant coach. Nori has been apart of the WCCU community in many facets over the past 20 years, as an athlete, captain, sibling, volunteer, and coach. She continued her swimming career through college attending the University of New England, swimming all 4 years and being named captain her senior year. She was the Head coach for Wiscasset High School from 2013-2021 and the Assistant Coach for Hyde School from 2017- present. Lori has 30+ years of professional teaching/coaching in swimming, soccer and basketball. Lori was awarded Maine Swimming Coach of the Year 2003 and a Zone Coach from 2010-2014. Volunteer Coach Paul Lazarus will be rounding out the staff this year, his passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition. The WCCU coaching staff provides positive encouragement and goal setting for the athletes and encourages them to build a lifelong love for the sport of swimming. WINTER SEASON:The W.C.C. Unsinkables is a registered U.S.A. swim team, with swimmers competing in U.S.A. swim meets throughout the season. WCCU swimmers are making a splash in the world of competitive swimming in Maine. Our swim team begins with our Preseason Swim Clinic at the end of September and will run for two weeks. The team will be coached this year by Lori LaPointe (her 25th season) and Nori Lund as the assistant coach. Nori has been apart of the WCCU community in many facets over the past 20 years, as an athlete, captain, sibling, volunteer, and coach. She continued her swimming career through college attending the University of New England, swimming all 4 years and being named captain her senior year. She was the Head coach for Wiscasset High School from 2013-2021 and the Assistant Coach for Hyde School from 2017- present. Lori has 30+ years of professional teaching/coaching in swimming, soccer and basketball. Lori was awarded Maine Swimming Coach of the Year 2003 and a Zone Coach from 2010-2014. Volunteer Coach Paul Lazarus will be rounding out the staff this year, his passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition. The WCCU coaching staff provides positive encouragement and goal setting for the athletes and encourages them to build a lifelong love for the sport of swimming. Participation in competitive swim meets is encouraged.  WHITE Group:  (Practice 3 times / week) 11 & Over/Seasoned SwimmersThe WHITE group is the highest level WCCU offers. The primary focus of this groups swimmer is to prepare for the more rigorous practices. Swimmers work on technique and efficiency, as well as swim more challenging workout sets.  This group is designed for the swimmer who  is focused on reaching their highest potential as an athlete and  thrives on a competitive spirit.  In addition to time spent on technique, the main focus of the group is an intensive training regimen. The American Red Cross learn to swim program is designed to teach people how to be safe in, on or around water and to teach individuals of different ages and abilities how to swim in a positive aquatic learning environment.  The six learning levels teaches aquatic and personal water safety skills in a logical progression.  In the six levels, participants build on their basic skills to learn various propulsive movements on the front, back and side.  As the levels increase, participants learn to refine the different strokes and build endurance.  Each level includes exit skills assessments that put together many of the skills learned in the level.

Friday and morning swim lessons are designed for preschool aged children 3-6 years old. Our program is designed to introduce beginning swimming skills in a fun filled environment.  Swimmers will be introduced to these new skills through fun and games. They will learn how to get their face wet, go under water, float on their back and front and much more.  Parents are welcome to sit pool side and watch their little swimmers learn, play and make new friends in the comforts of our warm pool. Our focus is to build a love for swimming.

She continued her swimming career through college attending the University of New England, swimming all 4 years and being named captain her senior year. She was the Head coach for Wiscasset High School from 2013-2021 and the Assistant Coach for Hyde School from 2017- present. Lori has 30+ years of professional teaching/coaching in swimming, soccer and basketball. Lori was awarded Maine Swimming Coach of the Year 2003 and a Zone Coach from 2010-2014. Volunteer Coach Paul Lazarus will be rounding out the staff this year, his passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition. The WCCU coaching staff provides positive encouragement and goal setting for the athletes and encourages them to build a lifelong love for the sport of swimming. The American Red Cross learn to swim program is designed to teach people how to be safe in, on or around water and to teach individuals of different ages and abilities how to swim in a positive aquatic learning environment.  The six learning levels teaches aquatic and personal water safety skills in a logical progression.  In the six levels, participants build on their basic skills to learn various propulsive movements on the front, back and side.  As the levels increase, participants learn to refine the different strokes and build endurance.  Each level includes exit skills assessments that put together many of the skills learned in the level.

Friday and morning swim lessons are designed for preschool aged children 3-6 years old. Our program is designed to introduce beginning swimming skills in a fun filled environment.  Swimmers will be introduced to these new skills through fun and games. They will learn how to get their face wet, go under water, float on their back and front and much more.  Parents are welcome to sit pool side and watch their little swimmers learn, play and make new friends in the comforts of our warm pool. Our focus is to build a love for swimming.

WINTER SEASON:The W.C.C. Unsinkables is a registered U.S.A. swim team, with swimmers competing in U.S.A. swim meets throughout the season. WCCU swimmers are making a splash in the world of competitive swimming in Maine. Our swim team begins with our Preseason Swim Clinic at the end of September and will run for two weeks. The team will be coached this year by Lori LaPointe (her 25th season) and Nori Lund as the assistant coach. Nori has been apart of the WCCU community in many facets over the past 20 years, as an athlete, captain, sibling, volunteer, and coach. She continued her swimming career through college attending the University of New England, swimming all 4 years and being named captain her senior year. She was the Head coach for Wiscasset High School from 2013-2021 and the Assistant Coach for Hyde School from 2017- present. Lori has 30+ years of professional teaching/coaching in swimming, soccer and basketball. Lori was awarded Maine Swimming Coach of the Year 2003 and a Zone Coach from 2010-2014. Volunteer Coach Paul Lazarus will be rounding out the staff this year, his passion for swimming will help bring the team to the next level of competition. The WCCU coaching staff provides positive encouragement and goal setting for the athletes and encourages them to build a lifelong love for the sport of swimming. GREEN Group:  (Practice 3 times / week)  10 and under SwimmersThe GREEN group must know how to swim three of the four strokes, have a basic understanding of how to use the pace clock and be comfortable in simple structured sets.  Emphasis is placed on fine tuning all four strokes, turns and starts, and implementing a more structured workout set. Participation in competitive swim meets is encouraged.  WHITE Group:  (Practice 3 times / week) 11 & Over/Seasoned SwimmersThe WHITE group is the highest level WCCU offers. The primary focus of this groups swimmer is to prepare for the more rigorous practices. Swimmers work on technique and efficiency, as well as swim more challenging workout sets.  This group is designed for the swimmer who  is focused on reaching their highest potential as an athlete and  thrives on a competitive spirit.  In addition to time spent on technique, the main focus of the group is an intensive training regimen. Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday: Green Team:3:30-4:30PMWhite Team: 4:30-5:30PMSWIM CLINIC:  MON/ WED/ FRI 3:30-4:30  SEASONED OR NEW SWIMMERSThe Swim Clinic is designed to teach the participant all about competitive swimming, from stroke technique, starts, turns, how to read the pace clock, to learning all four competitive strokes and much more through fun drills and games!  If your athlete is thinking about entering the sport of competitive swimming this program is a wonderful beginning!  It is for both the novice and highly competitive athletes, in that we devote a day to cover one of the four strokes: learning and understanding each stroke and gain a complete understanding of the stroke mechanics and body balance!  Participants meet other athlete interested in competitive swimming.With the use of video tapes and videotaping swimmers, participants learn all about Turns and starts that help them become more confident in the sport of swimming!Membership is not required for this program.Fee:  $90.00SWIM CLUB:  (PRACTICE 2 TIMES/ WEEK ) 10 AND UNDER and new swimmersThe swim club is for those swimmers just starting out on swim team.  Athletes will learn how to use the pace clock, terms and frequently used language, drills and how to swim all four competitive strokes legally.  Swimmers will be USA registered to compete when given the chance.  This is for primarily ten and under athletes or swimmers just beginning to learn the four strokes.  Membership is not required to register for this program.MONDAY and WEDNESDAYS:3:30-4:15PM  SUMMER SWIM TEAM:  Practice Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Schedule will be out after Winter season 2021-2022.    MEET FEES:  (Paid to the WCCU UPON REGISTERING FOR EACH MEET)                    For more information about the Unsinkables, please contact Head Coach Lori LaPointe at 882-8230
